ABOUT OUR SOY WAX
Our soy wax is clean burning- no toxins, parabens, carcinogens or pollutants which means our candles are less likely to trigger allergies. No petro-carbon soot like you get from petroleum-based paraffin candles. Our soy wax also burns cooler which means you can enjoy your soy candle for generally 30-50% longer than a paraffin candle. Soy is a soft, non-toxic wax made from the oil of soybeans. After harvesting, the beans are cleaned, cracked, de-hulled, and rolled into flakes. The oil is then extracted from the flakes and hydrogenated. The hydrogenation process converts some of the fatty acids in the oil from unsaturated to saturated. This process dramatically alters the melting point of the oil, making it a solid at room temperature. The leftover bean husks are commonly used as animal feed. Our soy candles are eco-friendly and support the American farmer instead of the foreign oil industry. Pure soy candles (preservative and dye-free) can also change texture and pigment over time due to its natural effects and essential oils.
